How does Selespeed gearbox work?
The Selespeed is an automated manual gearbox with an electronic clutch. In its current incarnation, it can be operated via paddle-shifters from the steering wheel or via a "joystick" like a conventional sequential manual gearbox, used in touring cars.

Special synthetic selespeed oil. This shift control premium synthetichydraulic fluid has been specially developed for electrohydraulic transmissions, known as Selespeed systems at the Fiat group. The Selespeed system is used by numerous manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Citroën, Peugeot and GM/Opel.
